That would require me to understand this season, which I don't.

The job is nothing big. I heard there's a holiday this week. [ ass. ] Even most in charge are taking the day off, but the lackies aren't.

So we're going to make sure the owner of the Chūkyō-ikka Kai comes back to a clean house. As a gift.

I was the only producer of Shimmer, and maintained every part of the network. Manufacturing, distribution. On the side I kept the Chem-Barons and their individual organizations in line as well.

[ A beat. ]

I ran the entire undercity. Well, as much as it needed running.

I did it because we needed to be a well run, powerful machine, if we want our freedom. I've been working for this nearly my whole life.

After so long, I've learned that nobody else has the vision or the drive to make it a reality. Except for me, of course.

When do you think your powerful machine will be ready, though? Was it ready?

I think it was nearly ready.

Getting topside to capitulate when they still have so much power is very difficult. I'd prefer we have no war at all, but it looks to be an inevitability.

I will go to war with them if I must.

[A war...]

[In his world, a war against the Head, the top of them all, would be unfathomable. He wonders if "topside" would have such power as well. How impossible was Silco's dream?]

And would there just be you, at the end of it all?

No. We're survivors, we Zaunites.

They have their hextech, but we have our Shimmer. We are far more evenly matched than they think we are, and the element of surprise would be used like a scalpel, to shred their defenses before they knew what was happening.

[ Clearly, he's thought about this. ]

I would prefer that they fear us, before they dive in too deep, but I do not trust that they will think with their heads. Only with their coinpurses and pride.
