THE FINAL CALL.
Apr. 14th, 2026 09:46 pm ▷ THE FINAL CALL.
▶ 001. An Emergency!
With the latest developments, LILITH prepares to pull out all of the stops. Yamakawa reaches out to their allies around the world, pulling in favors and asking for assistance in what will likely be a historic event. While she manages the bureaucratic side of things, other machinations are moving on base.
This will be LILITH's final call for help.
Meanwhile, Gwen has successfully taken an ancient looking book from a garden in Greece. The writing on the outside of the book cannot be deciphered with everyone's current ocular devices. If that is the case, than the writing inside of the book cannot be read either. Out of all the people Yamakawa has contacted, she reaches out to one of her old friends, Nikifor Sokolo, a master of ancient linguistics. He will need some time to develop a chip upgrade to translate something this old, so Outsiders are told to wait.
As for the key.. Gwen will be using her rift abilities to take various Outsiders to several familiar locations: Egypt, Transylvania, and South Korea. It is in these areas that she senses similar energy to that which belongs to the book. Perhaps this is where we find our three pieces of the key to unlock the book. Investigate areas below with Gwen to try and find the missing keys.
Yamakawa has a different project after reaching out to Nikifor, however. If this is really it; something big and powerful that has been secluded and kept so secret, she should be prepared. In the ADMIN ONLY room, Yamakawa uses what power their base has to offer to bring in back up… just in case.
That's when the stasis pods fill up again and some familiar faces start to appear.

▶ 002. Welcome Back.
It feels vaguely familiar.
Everything happens in the blink of an eye, a dash of time – you're taken from where you were. What you were doing... it isn't important any more, and slowly, you give up the desire of your normal life. When you awaken, figures are looking down on you from a surgical table. "It's the same one, right? Hey, it looks like you've lost some weight since we saw you last!" That's all you see before losing consciousness again, only to wake up in a pod with many others.
"Your questions will be answered soon enough, as I'm sure you will have many," a female, robotic voice says.
Just then, you regain consciousness in a pool of stasis liquid along with many others. You realize you are underground. Welcome back to your old life... whether you like it or not.
Welcome back to Neo Tokyo.
Pods drain their stasis fluid, which wakes each Outsider and they emerge from their pod in only undergarments. Directed to a locker room in the medical bay, they find a towel to dry off with and a set of gray loungewear to wear as LILITH makes the final decision in assigning the Outsiders to their rightful teams. If a character has any accessibility needs, they will be found here.
It's around this time they will feel a familiar sharp pain at the back of their eyes. This pain will subside quickly as their body adapts to the changes, but there will always be a sensation of something being not quite right; that their bodies have been changed forever. It might take some getting used to, but over time the sensation will become familiar. In the stasis pods, all Outsiders have been surgically fitted with ocular and brain implants that will enable them to communicate with LILITH and the rest of the crew, as well as providing them the information they require. Almost like a computer screen has been loaded into their brains, they will see a loading screen as the implant completes its download.
A questionnaire will then pop up, waiting for their answer. A voice, robotic and feminine, will also read along in their brain for them.
█ █ █ LOADING COMPLETE … BEGIN ORIENTATION …
Outsiders will also notice an implant in their dominant wrist. This implant has a barcode in it that will enable them to purchase goods from the local stores in Neo Tokyo. Their starting balance is whatever they had before they left. For those who had empty accounts, they will receive a starting balance of 15,000 KRYPTOS (about USD 100), which is barely enough for a few good meals, groceries, and supplies. They can view their current balance through a hologram window projected by their ocular implant.
In the cafeteria area, food is being served. The kitchen can be seen, and a few robots are busy stirring pots and preparing the dishes. The current offerings is Nordic fare with freeze dried ice cream desserts! It is somewhat good, especially for those who are on the side of being leery of the offerings of the past.

Name:Outsiders will receive a quick debrief about their situation: they will be told that the year is 2279, and they have been taken to Neo Tokyo, one of the last bastions of mankind in a world terrorized by various Kaiju and monsters. Only a third of the population remains, and LILITH has gathered talented people from other dimensions here as a last ditch effort to save humanity. Outsiders are free to continue asking LILITH questions through their implant, but there’s no guarantee that they will provide them with a straight answer.

▶ 003. Unexpected Arrivals.
Perhaps you didn't go with Gwen to find the keys or you have returned and are awaiting next orders; there is probably some time to kill. There may be some familiar faces on base that you never expected to see again. Likewise, there are probably those who never expected to be back in the first place. There are a lot of questions, emotions, and even more to catch up on.
This was an unplanned arrival so LILITH scrambles to get blankets, pillows, and other necessities for any returning Outsiders. Some of them may find that they've been assigned to rooms that already have people in them or that their identification isn't being accepted on base or even out in the city yet. If they go into the city, they may find that their accounts are full but they aren't able to make payments yet. It may take some time for LILITH to restore old information for them to transition seamlessly back into Neo Tokyo life.
In the meantime, they are free to grab any available room for now or crash with a friend. They are also advised to not go out alone in case they run into trouble. Ideally, it's best for them to go around the base with someone who already has authentication so they can get through doors, use facilities, and access the cafeteria. For those going out into the city, someone with a public profile will need to help make purchases on their behalf.

▶ 004. Lost in Translation.
While current Outsiders are mingling with arrivals that they may or may not recognize, one by one, each person will be guided to the medbay for their chip upgrade. Between Dr. Spim and holographic communication with Nikifor, the upgrade is simple and surprisingly painless. However, some Outsiders may notice that their translation devices aren't working properly anymore. Perhaps they're translating everyone's language in something different that they cant comprehend, or when they try to read things in Japanese, the ocular device is translating it into a language they cannot understand. This is a temporary bug that will have to be fixed, by for now, the Outsiders will have to make do for the time being.
With the keys being found at this point, Gwen is eager to see if anyone's ocular devices can read the ancient book despite it's bugs. She'll approach them one by one and see what messages they are able to find. Investigate the book below with Gwen.
