I don't think I'll escape death here, if that's what you mean. But I also don't think that will be my end. We can both explain away so much about this place, but there's also much we can't.

I'm willing to place my faith in that unknown, as improbably as it may be. What if death simply returned us to the City? Or if this was all a distortion brought about by a Singularity? Really, a tree has so many branches.
